Welcome to Klipnote, a project by Movies Everywhere.
We take privacy seriously — not just because the EU says so, but because we believe that control over one's data is part of academic and creative freedom.

Klipnote is a recommendation platform developed by Movies Everywhere LDA., dedicated to connecting educational content with relevant films.

3. What We Collect — and What We Don't
Let's keep it simple.
- •We don't store syllabi or course content that users upload or paste into Klipnote. The system uses this text temporarily for generating recommendations — then it's deleted automatically.
- •We don't track personal identities unless you voluntarily create an account to save your recommendations.
- •We may collect basic analytics (e.g. page visits, device type, session length) for site performance and usage statistics, always in anonymous form.
- •If you register or contact us, we store your name and email address for the purpose of account access or correspondence.
4. How We Use the Data
We use your data only for:
- •Providing and improving the Klipnote service.
- •Responding to user requests (for example, when you email us).
- •Managing stored recommendation lists, if you create an account.
We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal data for advertising or marketing purposes. Ever.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Under GDPR, our lawful bases include:
- •Consent, for optional features like saving recommendations or receiving updates.
- •Legitimate interest, to maintain and secure the platform.
- •Legal obligation, when required to comply with EU or Portuguese law.
6. Data Retention
- •Uploaded texts and course descriptions are not stored.
- •Personal account data (e.g. email and password) are retained only while your account is active.
- •You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — no explanations required. This is your right to erasure ("right to be forgotten").
7. Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the following rights:
- •To access your data.
- •To rectify incorrect data.
- •To delete data permanently.
- •To restrict or object to processing.
- •To port your data elsewhere.

8. Cookies & Analytics
Klipnote uses minimal cookies — primarily for session management and language preferences.
Anonymous, aggregated analytics may be collected (through privacy-friendly tools) to help us understand how the site is used. We do not use cookies for advertising or profiling.

We use industry-standard security measures (encryption, access controls, secure hosting) to protect data from unauthorized access or disclosure.
That said, remember: no system is 100% invulnerable. We commit to transparency and immediate notification if a data breach ever occurs.
10. Data Hosting & Transfers
Our servers are hosted in the European Economic Area (EEA).
If we ever use non-EEA service providers (for example, an API or cloud-based LLM), we ensure an adequate level of protection through GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.

If you connect Klipnote to external services (e.g. importing films from other catalogs), your use of those services is governed by their respective privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them carefully.
